Fix NSIS Error: Making Installation Easy

If you can fix NSIS error issues on your computer, you will save yourself a lot of frustration. NSIS is the software that allows ease of installation of other software. NSIS errors during installation do not mean that the actual software is damaged, just that the installation process is corrupted.

What Is an NSIS Error?

A NSIS error is actually a program installation error. During the process of installing, the self-check that was performed on the installer failed. Typically this is because there have been changes made to the original form. The error is given because the system has halted the installation process in order to avoid future problems, incomplete installation or broken software installation.

What Causes an NSIS Error?

The NSIS error is caused by an alteration made to the original form of the installer file. This may be due to a virus. A corrupted installer may also be due to physical damage if the software is on a physical media source like a CD or DVD.

How Can You Fix NSIS Error?

The solution to fixing the NSIS error is typical of many computer errors. There are an abundance of things that may be at fault. Therefore, you need to go step by step through the different solutions, trying each. You may find the right one quickly or it may take all the steps listed.

  1. For software that was downloaded from the Internet, you will need to begin by clearing the cache on your browser. This will mean going to the history, temporary files, privacy settings or tools in your browser and following the instructions in order to clear the cache.
  2. If there are any download managers or accelerators on your computer, disable them and attempt the installation download again.
  3. Give the installer a new name that is easy to recognize.
  4. Locate an alternative source for the installer that has been approved by the software publisher or developer and install it from there.
  5. Make sure your anti-virus software is on and up-to-date and attempt installation again.
  6. Turn off your anti-virus software and attempt installation again.
  7. If you continue to have problems, attempt the installation from a different computer and then copy the software to the computer you want to use.
  8. Check your firewalls and remove the nVidia firewall. Attempt installation again.
  9. Scan your system for viruses and other malware. Remove any you find and attempt installation again.
  10. For software that is on a CD, DVD or other physical device, the problem is likely a hardware one. In this case, you will likely need to get a replacement.

Hope this helps you fix NSIS errors with your computer.
